Professor Dr C S Chan

Professor Dr C S Chan is a distinguished higher education leader and accomplished academician renowned for his innovative and forward-looking thoughts and ideas which were implemented for programmes and institutions development where he served. 

His career spanning more than four decades in the field of further and higher transnational education and corporate training has made significant contributions to the field of education and training through his vision, leadership, scholarship, and commitment to teaching-learning excellence in the Asia Pacific-MENA region.

Academic and Professional Background: 

Professor Dr Chan holds a Doctorate qualification from France, a Master from the UK and a Bachelor degree from Malaysia, a truly international citizen and learner-educator.

Additionally, he is a Certified Trainer of the renowned American Management Association, the foremost global Management Education solution provider to more than 430 out of the top Fortune 500 companies. His passion for educating the minds and empowering learners and teaching them how to learn and optimizing their brain capacity has been a driving force throughout his career. 

He received credentialing to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students from more than 15 universities from Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, UK, USA, Spain, Croatia as adjunct faculty both in education and management subjects. He won several awards and commendations for teaching excellence throughout his career.

Leadership and Vision: 

As an education leader, Professor Dr Chan is known for his visionary thinking and ability to lead institutions through transformational change to adapt to fast changing socio-economic-technological forces which impact education design and management. He served as the Academic Director in several large private education of further and higher education institutions, where he championed cross-disciplinary collaboration and the integration of technology in pedagogy. His emphasis on fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement had benefited various institutions he had served over the past four decades.

At the heart of Professor Dr Chan’s philosophy is a student-centric approach to education. He has been a strong advocate for personalized learning, recognizing that each student's journey is unique. Under his leadership, institutions have adopted pedagogical methods that prioritize active engagement, experiential learning, and real-world application of knowledge. Global Collaborator: 

Recognizing the interconnectedness of education on a global scale, Professor Dr Chan has participated, fostered and managed international collaborations and partnerships with professional bodies and universities from Malaysia, USA, Australia, UK, Spain and Croatia amongst others. He has facilitated, designed and managed off campus validated and franchised degree programmes delivered over a network of 25 over learning centres located in more than 15 countries across the Asia Pacific and MENA region. 

Bringing education to their doorsteps and enabling students to gain access to internationally recognized qualifications without having to leave their homes or jobs via fully online and Blended Learning has been recent Professor Dr Chan’s focus. 

Since 2019, Professor Dr Chan serves as the Professor of Education and doubling up as its Chief Academic Officer for Brittany Universite, an online university registered and approved by both the Ministry of Education as well as the Ministry of Higher Education in France. 

Professor Dr Chan is a keen observer of China’s history and development and has been keeping watch over China’s development over the past 35 years.
